This is the 2002 strategic and action plan of the Institute of Aging (IA), one of the 13 Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The IA supports research to promote healthy aging and to address causes, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, support systems and palliation for a wide range of conditions associated with aging. This report sets out the IA’s mission, vision and values; its five priority areas for research; its strategic orientations and main objectives; and its action plan. Appendices include information on the IA’s advisory board and management and its strategic planning methodology.
