The Geomapping for Energy and Minerals program provides new and modern geological knowledge of remote regions of Canada's north. This report presents data that document the age and geological history of rocks from one of the poorest documented regions in Canada, the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut (parts of NTS sheets 56, 66,76). The new age data, combined with regional airborne geophysical data is used to subdivide the region into distinct geological domains, each with a unique geological history. The new knowledge is useful to evaluate geological correlation over a broader region and contributes to an improved understanding of the mineral potential of the area.
