Survey designs for the 1993 crop and livestock surveys : list frame = Les plans des enquêtes sur les cultures et sur le bétail de 1993 : base liste / by J. Trépanier.: CS11-617/93-11-PDF

"Until 1992, the National Farm Survey (NFS) was the second most important agricultural survey next to the five-yearly Census of Agriculture). It collected agricultural data on cropland areas, livestock and farmers' finances. In 1993 the NFS was replaced by three surveys that cover crop, livestock and financial variables separately. The three surveys use a common area frame and a list frame. The financial survey list frame is somewhat different from the frame used for the other two surveys. A separate sample design has been developed for each of the three surveys. This report describes the sample designs developed for the list frame and used in the new crop and livestock surveys. These designs use both univariate and multivariate stratification methods and introduce a number of measures designed to lessen respondent burden"--Abstract.
