"The purpose of the Management Plan is to guide the future management, development and use of Fort Malden. This document provides a terms of reference for future activities by establishing the goals for site development and by providing a concept and guidelines for the achievement of those goals. The Plan is organized into four main sections. The first section provides background material on the location of the Fort, its physical and historical resources, problems, and the primary aims guiding Parks Canada's management of the site. Section two describes the development proposals at a conceptual level, and the third section contains more specific development guidelines. The assessment of potential environmental impacts is described in the fourth section. Other information required to support the recommendations of the Plan is located in the appendices"--Introd., p.
