"Experimental studies on anaerobic filter treatment of septic tank effluent have been carried out in some countries such as U.S.A., India, and Thailand. No such study has been carried out in Canada. This report has reviewed the literature on the subject, assessed the suitability of such a treatment for Canadian conditions and presented a suitable conceptual system for use along with some cost information. Areas for further research have also been identified and reported"--Summary.
