"An ecological study to assess the impact of environmental changes to the Babine sockeye production is currently being conducted under the auspices of the Babine Watershed Change Program. Specifically, the Environmental Quality Unit of the Northern Operations Branch, Fisheries Service, is changed with the responsiblility to measure the change in quantity and quality of water and solids entering Babine Lake from mining, community and recreational developments and logging activiites. This report briefly reviews the industrical and community facilities and reports on the surveys conducted by the E.Q. Unit in 1972"--Introd., p. 1.
