Global Partnership Program - making a difference : FR2-3/2006
This annual report describes the efforts of Canada and its G-8 partners, the European Union, and 13 other countries in their work for disarmament, non-proliferation, counter-terrorism, and nuclear safety issues. The group’s concerns focus on the weaponry stockpiled by the former Soviet Union during the Cold War. The report describes Canada’s accomplishments in assisting Russia in decommissioning and disposing of weaponry, and redirecting weapons scientists to other programs. The report also lists expenditures in these areas.
