"In recent months the Dominion Bureau of Statistics, with the cooperation of the Canadian Dental Association, has conducted a survey of incomes in the profession of dentistry for the years 1941 to 1944. This project is part of a program of the Central Research and Development Staff to expand and improve the collection of national income statistics. A fuller knowledge of the composition and behaviour of national income, which is the sum of the incomes of all individuals and groups in the country, is essential to an understanding of the functioning of the Canadian economy and the economic status of specific groups"--p. 2.
