Slopes of working curves in emission spectrometric analysis of certain silicates / by J. K. Hurwitz. : M38-1/55-1959E-PDF
"In the emission spectrometric analysis of silicates, Strock recently reported large deviations from unity of the working curve slopes. He suggested that these abnormal slopes resulted from collisions of the second kind occurring in the direct-current arc discharge. These experiments were repeated, and data were treated statistically. Deviations from a slope of unity in nearly every case were satisfactorily explained by the experimental errors inherent in the method or by self-absorption"--Abstract.
