Division 4VWX redfish : assessment and estimate of total allowable catch for 1982 / T.J. Kenchington, Department of Biology, Dalhousie University, Halifax, N.S.  : Fs70-8/81-17E-PDF

"Landings of Scotian Shelf redfish have declined since the early 1970s, and are now about 13,000 tons per year. An analytical assessment of these fish was not attempted. Instead time series of catches, commercial catch rates, research vessel biomass estimates and length frequencies were examined. These seem to indicate a major decline in biomass during the 1970's, which appears to be continuing. A considerable reduction in the TAC is, therefore, necessary."--Abstract.
