"Tyche is a Monte Carlo discrete-event simulation application tool developed by Defence Research and Development Canada's Centre for Operational Research and Analysis(DRDC CORA) to support the Canadian Armed Forces in conducting capability-based planning for force structure analysis. As part of a phased upgrade approach to enable the tool to handle medium-to-large-scale, multi-objective optimization problems, DRDC CORA established a requirement to transition the Tyche application to a fully-supported, modern programming language and perform significant upgrades"--Abstract, page ii.
