"The Cyber Operations and Signals Warfare (COSW) section of Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) has prototyped cyber operation functions developed as applications (apps) on Android devices, which run the Lineage OS (formerly known as CyanogenMod) operating system designed to operate in a mobile Ad-Hoc network (MANET). The MANET capability on Android devices necessitates that both the WiFi chip and the Lineage OS software be supportive of Ad-Hoc mode of operation. DRDC is interested in a survey of qualified existing and emerging Android phones to better understand the hardware choices available for tactical cyber research and procure a number of units of a recommended type"--Abstract.
