"In May 1981, behavioural researchers from telecommunications laboratories in France and Canada met in Ottawa, Canada under the auspices of the Memorandum of Understanding made between the two countries in 1979 to share their work related to the development of videotex. In both countries, work had been underway for about three years on problems related to the design of videotex technology and systems to suit individual users and the society more generally"--Preface.
