The Olympia oyster was designated in the Special Concern category by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) in 2000 and listed under the Canadian Species At Risk Act in 2003. An updated status report was published by COSEWIC in 2010, and surveys to verify historic records of the species were conducted between 2008 and 2011. This report documents the results of surveys conducted in 2010 and 2011.
