Espèces sauvages canadiennes en péril .: CW70-9F-PDF

Le Comité sur la situation des espèces en péril au Canada (COSEPAC) a été crée en 1977 sur la recommandation faite à la Conférence fédérale-provinciale sur la faune tenue en 1976. Le Comité a été mis sur pied à la suite du besoin d'inscrire les espèces sauvages en péril sur une seule liste officielle et nationale, et selon des critères scientifiques. En 1978, le COSEPAC désignait ses premières espèces et produisait sa première liste des espèces en péril au Canada. Les espèces se voyant attribuées une désignation pendant les réunions annuelles sont ajoutées à la liste.
