Cover image

Provide a ‘state-of-knowledge’ of the Georges Bank marine ecosystem (e.g. oceanography, marine habitat, marine species, and aquatic species at risk), fisheries (including Aboriginal fisheries) and other ocean users of the area, socio-economic profile of the fisheries, and an overview of DFO programs that support oceans management – the report places emphasis on Canada’s portion of Georges Bank. Also outlines the potential interactions associated with typical offshore petroleum activities that may arise in context of marine ecosystems and fisheries, based on observations from other offshore petroleum development regions.
