Biological characteristics of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) in the Nepisiguit River, New Brunswick, 1982-1996 / by F. K. Mowbray and A. Locke.Fs97-6/2236E

This report examines the age structure (both freshwater and salt-water), spawning history, length at age, and sex ratios of Atlantic salmon intercepted at the Nepisiguit River counting fence. In particular we ask whether these characteristics vary between salmon known to be of hatchery origin (marked by clipping the adipose fin) and presumed wild fish (unmarked), and whether stock characteristics have changed over the years.--Pp. 1-2
