Evolution of the female labour force participation rate in Canada, 1976-1994 : a cohort analysis / by Paul Beaudry and Thomas Lemieux.: MP32-28/99-4E

The goal of this paper is to investigate the sources of the stagnation in the labour force participation rate of women age 25 to 64 during the 1990's. More precisely, we seek to determine whether the stagnation in the female labour force participation rate is a temporary phenomenon tied to the poor growth performance of the economy during the 1990's, or whether it represents a permanent change in the behaviour of women in the labour market.--Page 1
