This plan addresses vital conservation issues for shorebirds in Ontario. The plan has the following goals: to sustain, and restore when necessary, the distribution, diversity, and abundance of breeding migrating shorebirds in Ontario; to ensure sufficient high-quality habitat to support healthy shorebird populations in Ontario; and to ensure coordinated efforts are instituted based on information on conservation needs and practices made widely available to decision makers, land managers, and the public. Complements the Canadian Shorebird Conservation Plan.
