This statement on the preventable tragedy of shaken baby syndrome is aimed at professionals who work in health, child welfare, police services, justice, education and social services, as well as at governments, organizations and communities. Intended to stimulate work in developing multidisciplinary guidelines for identifying and managing the syndrome, this publication discusses issues in a question-and-answer format and lists recommendations for the many areas touched by this syndrome. It also provides a detailed bibliography.
