Implementing Canada's National Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities : national report to the 2001 Intergovernmental Review Meeting on Implementation...En21-208/2001E-PDF

This is Canada's first report to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on the implementation of its National Programme of Action (NPA). The NPA responds to the UNEP's Global Programme of Action to protect the marine environment. This report describes how Canada is implementing the NPA, and includes an annex describing 90 programs (and their Web sites) that contribute to the goals and objectives of the NPA. This report also summarizes Canada's experiences developing the NPA and the lessons learned from the process.
