Hexactinellid sponge reefs on the British Columbia continental shelf : geological and biological structure with a perspective on their role in the shelf ecosystem / K.W. Conway.: Fs70-1/1999-192E-PDF

The purpose of this document is to provide an up-to-date overview of geological and biological aspects of the Hexactinellid sponge reefs found on the continental shelf. Most data are still being compiled from the July 1999 research cruise and have yet to be analyzed, so that the information presented here is preliminary. Combined with earlier knowledge, however, this information should facilitate discussion regarding the sustainable use of the seafloor where the sponge reefs are found.
