"Much recent research effort has been directed at seabird feeding ecology, which is central to many multidisciplinary studies of marine foods webs (e.g., Nettleship et al. 1984; CroxaIl 1987; Furness and Monaghan 1987; Vermeer and Butler 1989). The present collection, an outgrowth of a symposium held at Memorial University of Newfoundland in April 1989 and jointly sponsored by the Ocean Sciences Centre and the Canadian WildIife Service, includes behavioural, energetic, and oceanographic aspects of seabird feeding ecology.
