"According to the results of Canada’s recent census, in 2016, more than one in five Canadians were foreign-born, and almost two in five Canadian children had an immigrant background, either directly or indirectly through at least one foreign-born parent. Canada has a multicultural society, and its ethnocultural diversity is expected to become more significant in the future. From a variety of perspectives, including economic, this trend is beneficial. Immigrants to Canada are entrepreneurial, and some are business owners. A number of their firms export and import, and contribute to Canada’s trade and investment relations with countries around the world"--Introduction, p. 1.
