"This document outlines (1) the changes Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has made to the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) reporting requirements beginning with the 2020 reporting year, (2) the changes ECCC has made to the requirements beginning with the 2021 reporting year, and (3) the changes ECCC plans to make to the requirements for the 2022 and 2023 reporting years. The final 2020-2021 requirements were published in Part I of the Canada Gazette on February 15, 2020. This document describes the new and planned requirements, summarizes the corresponding comments received from stakeholders during consultation periods, and provides ECCC's response to those comments. For each of the proposed changes, input was solicited from stakeholders and the public using consultation documents which are included in appendices to this document"--Introduction, page 5.
