"Domtar Limited, previously known as Dominion Tar & Chemical Company, Limited, formally adopted its present name in 1965 after using Domtar for several years in the titles of its operating subsidiaries. The company has been identified as a Canadian corporation under a Dominion charter since 1929, but its full history covers a span of more than 70 years starting in 1903 when, as a British company, it established a small coal tar distillery in Sydney, Nova Scotia"--Overview, page 1.
