"The Air Pollution Control Directorate of the Environmental Protection Service of Environment Canada (EPS) wished to carry out a field evaluation of the performance of one commercial model of dichotomous sampling instrument and at the same time to develop a protocol for field use of this instrument. An additional aim of the evaluation was to gather preliminary data on the total particle mass concentration and on the concentration of selected chemical species in the coarse and fine fractions, at a number of sites across Canada. A specific objective was to compare the concentration of particulate constituents, especially lead, collected by rooftop and curbside samplers at the same site"--Introduction.
