An assessment of the effects of the Niagara ice boom on ice conditions in eastern Lake Erie / by M.S. Webb = Une estimation de l'effet du barrage de glace de Niagara sur les conditions des glaces à l'est...: En57-58/795-1973E-PDF
"An assessment has been made of the ways in which the Niagara Ice Boom could affect the ice regime of Lake Erie. Although a definitive evaluation was not possible due to a shortage of pertinent data, it would appear that the most significant effect as far as navigation is concerned occurs during the spring break-up. It was estimated that ice retained on Lake Erie by the presence of the boom could extend the ice season by about a day"--Abstract.
