"The profile of adults entering correctional facilities has changed over the last ten years. More adults are being held in provincial facilities to await trial or sentencing and fewer are entering these facilities to serve a sentence ordered by the court. The number of people admitted to federal prisons, which house persons sentenced to custody for two years or more, has grown steadily over the same period"--Page 6.
