Police-reported violent crimes against young women and girls in Canada’s Provincial North and Territories, 2017 / by Cristine Rotenberg.: CS85-002/39-12E-PDF
"The current report builds on recent studies that have explored police-reported crimes in Canada’s Provincial North and territories (Allen and Perreault 2015), violent crimes against young women and girls (Conroy 2018), urban and rural crime (Perreault 2019), and crimes in Indigenous communities (Allen, forthcoming). Given that previous research produced by Statistics Canada provided a comprehensive analysis of the gender disparity for young victims of violent crime in Canada (Conroy 2018), the current report will focus mainly on the disparity between young female victims of violent crimes in the North and those living in the South. Some gender comparisons are provided throughout for additional context"--Page 4.
