"This indicator presents the status and trends of spring phosphorus levels in the offshore waters of the Canadian Great Lakes. Offshore rather than nearshore phosphorous levels are used because they better represent long-term trends, and are less influenced by local pollutant sources that are found in Lake's nearshore"--Page 5.
