"The Air and Precipitation Monitoring Network was established in 1978 by the Atmospheric Environment Service of Canada as part of an investigation of the long-range transport of air pollutants. It consists of four non-urban sites and one urban site in eastern Canada. The network's main purpose is to provide information on the input rate of acids and acid-related substances to aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems"--Abstract.
