"Northern Madtom (Noturus stigmosus), a species listed as Endangered under Canada's Species at Risk Act, exhibits a limited geographic distribution in southwestern Ontario, with extant populations in the Detroit River, St. Clair River, Thames River, and Lake St. Clair. In 2022, Fisheries and Oceans Canada conducted targeted sampling for Northern Madtom in the Thames River as part of ongoing research to better understand the distribution of the species in Canada. Repeat-pass trawling was used to re-sample historical detection locations in a 20 km stretch between Dutton-Dunwich and Big Bend conservation areas"--Abstract, page vii.
