Testing location-specific mortality reference points for American Eel (Anguilla rostrata) in a meta-population model / Madison E. Brook, Adam S. van der Lee, Marten A. Koops.Fs70-5/2026-013E-PDF

"Despite its broad distribution which includes the east coast of Canada and the United States of America, American Eel (Anguilla rostrata) share one common breeding ground with a panmictic population structure. An age-structured matrix model was used to construct a meta-population model with zones defined along the east coast of North America to test the effect of managing the meta-population at a regional level. A variety of possible assumptions about density-dependence, leptocephali survival and leptocephali dispersal were examined"--Abstract, page iv.
