"The Northern and Southern Resident Killer Whales (Orcinus orca) were listed as threatened and endangered, respectively, under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) in 2003. The "Action Plan for Northern and Southern Resident Killer Whale (Orcinus orca)" was finalized and published on the Species at Risk Public Registry in 2017. This report provides updates on progress made by the Government of Canada, partners and the broader conservation community towards implementing the action plan and achieving its population and distribution objective from when the action plan was published in March 2017 until February 2024"--Executive summary, page ii.
