"Building on its own work from the last parliament and that of its Subcommittee on International Human Rights, the Committee decided that it would use this study to continue shining a light on one of the most troubling aspects of this war: the unlawful transfer and deportation of Ukrainian children by Russian authorities. In plain language, they have been abducted, through activities that international mechanisms have determined to be systematic and widespread. Once under Russian control, Ukrainian children have been illegally adopted and subjected to indoctrination and attempted Russification through school curriculum and placements in military training camps - "all in order to change their identity from Ukrainian to Russian." Through the erasure of identity, the Committee heard, Russia is seeking to "destroy" Ukraine's future"--Pages 3-4.
