"This report summarizes activities undertaken by the Pacific Stock Assessment Review Committee (PSARC) during 1996. During this year, 53 reviewed Working Papers and 14 unreviewed Fishery Updates were presented at meetings of the four PSARC Subcommittees (Salmon, Invertebrates, Groundfish, and Herring). In this annual report, an overview by the Chairperson of the PSARC Steering Committee is followed by eight PSARC Advisory Documents which summarize the Working Papers, reviewers' comments, subcommittee discussions and Steering Committee comments"--Abstract, page iv.
