"The Fundian Channel, located off southwestern Nova Scotia, is a biologically and ecologically important area connecting the waters of the Gulf of Maine and the Atlantic Ocean. In 2018, the Fundian Channel-Browns Bank Area of Interest was identified for potential designation as a Marine Protected Area, with cetacean habitat included among the proposed conservation priorities. To assess the occurrence of beaked and baleen whale species in this area, passive acoustic monitoring was conducted from 2018-2024 at seven recording stations located in deep slope waters"--Abstract, page iii.
