"A survey of red sea urchin populations in Laredo Channel, parts of Pacific Fishery Management (PFM) Area 6, was conducted in July 2000. A total of 86 randomly placed transects were surveyed by SCUBA divers. Estimated mean density was 1.33 urchins per m². Estimated mean biomass was 325.9 g/m². Overall, 31.7% of the total number of urchins measured were ≤50 mm test diameter (TD) whereas 42.3% were of legal size (≥90 mm TD) for the commercial fishery"--Abstract, page iii.
