"This is the second exploratory survey for sidestripe shrimp, Pandalopsis dispar, undertaken as a joint Federal-Provincial project. The main area of exploration was the southern Queen Charlotte Islands with some expanded surveys in areas which in past surveys showed potential. The two resurveyed areas, Smith Sound and Grenville Channel showed increases in fishable areas and production estimates of 11 t and 10 t, respectively. The only area in the Queen Charlotte Islands with reasonable shrimp catches was Sedgewick Bay, in Juan Perez Sound. The annual production estimate for Sedgewick Bay was 5 t/yr"--Abstract, page iii.
