"This standard applies to a thin-film inorganic zinc rich material intended to protect abrasive-blasted plate or structural steel, before and during construction of ships and other steel structures, for a minimum of one year. After construction is completed, inorganic zinc or conventional coatings (except oil and alkyd based) may be applied over the preservative"--Scope, page 1.
