Pre-submission information checklist
Like most published materials, you can find information about a book-like Government of Canada publication on the first three pages:
Please include the following information, in the order described, before submitting your publication for cataloguing.
On the cover page (recto)
- The publication title
- The departmental signature or the Government of Canada signature and the Canada wordmark
More information
On the copyright page (verso)
- Notice regarding all available languages
- For example: “This publication is also available in French”
- The date of publication
- date the publication was released, not the content date
- Other available formats
- For example: print, PDF, EPUB3, audio, and others
- A copyright notice, using this format: © His Majesty the King in Right of Canada, as represented by the Minister of [legal name of department], [year of publication]
- The Government of Canada catalogue number
- The appropriate International Standard Book Number (ISBN) or International Standard Serial Number (ISSN)
- Your departmental catalogue number, if applicable
Other information you may include on your copyright page
- Reservation of rights
- Editorial address
- Trademark
- Ordering information, if applicable
- Edition number
- Credits and other informative notes

The publication title: This iteration of the title is separate from graphic design elements or other typography that may be on the cover page, although you may include official symbols of the Government of Canada.
