Levels-of-Growing-Stock cooperative study in Douglas-fir. Report no. 16, Sayward Forest and Shawnigan Lake / [by] Dennis Beddows. : Fo46-17/393E-PDF

In the 1960s, nine installations of Douglas-fir were established in the Pacific Northwest by the Levels-of-Growing-Stock Cooperative, a research cooperative comprising both Canadian and US forests services, including the British Columbia Ministry of Forests and the Canadian Forest Service. These installations were established to determine the effects of the amount of growing stock retained in repeatedly thinned stands of Douglas-fir on cumulative wood production, tree size and growth-to-growing stock ratios. This is a report on two installations on Vancouver Island, one at Sayward Forest and one at Shawnigan Lake.
