Medium term policy baseline : international and domestic markets : A72-57/2000E-PDF

The purpose of this document is to describe the features of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC's) medium term policy baseline covering the period 2000-2006. This baseline is an attempt to outline a plausible future for the international and domestic agri-food sectors. This outline will serve as a benchmark for discussion, scenario analysis and consensus about the impact of current and prospective events on these agri-food sectors. The baseline makes specific assumptions and judgements and works out their implications. Since it holds policies constant according to existing legislation, the baseline is not a forecast of future events... The text of this document includes an overview of the main assumptions and key results and is accompanied by many figures to facilitate the comprehension.--Preface
