Examined whether the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Education and its Department of Community and Government Services complied with their key responsibilities related to safety in schools and childcare facilities. Focused on the inspections that the departments are required to conduct, including fire inspections in both types of facilities, as well as boiler and electrical inspections in schools. In childcare facilities, also focused on the annual inspections that the Department of Education is required to conduct.
