“The study is divided into six sections. The first section looks at the past, present and future age composition of the male working age population in Canada in order to get some idea of the combined effect on the economy of the changing age composition of the male working age population and the declining participation in the labour force of these men. The second section examines the nature of the declining participation by looking at the magnitude and stability of the phenomenon.”—Introduction.
