"A field investigation of the physical limnology of the headwater lakes of Yukon River Basin was undertaken during the late winters of 1983 and 1985. The particular emphasis made in this study on the behaviour of the temperature and flow fields near the outflow as well as the through-flow process and their relation to ice cover thickness and extent stems from the need for fundamental knowledge on the impact of possible future hydroelectric power developments in the Yukon River Basin on the river, lake and reservoir ice regimes"--Management perspective.
