"Here, we describe a collaborative process where a prioritization framework was co-developed between DFO Science and First Nations partners and applied to culverts in the North Thompson watershed, British Columbia. Through this process, we iteratively refined a list of 19,417 modelled stream crossings into 12 priority barrier crossings. Key metrics incorporated into prioritization included culvert barrier status, number of downstream barrier culverts, length of potential habitat upstream, and presence of a known salmon spawning population in the tributary watershed"--Abstract, page iv.
