Workforce insights : demographics in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector from 2015 to 2023 / by Megan McMaster. : CS11-621/174E-PDF
"This paper, the first of a three-study series, explores the demographic differences among employees in the arts, entertainment and recreation sector. This paper will focus on the performing arts, spectator sports and related industries, and the amusement and recreation industries. These industries are heavily influenced by tourism, consumer demand and discretionary spending on leisure. In recent years, inflationary pressures have affected these factors, impacting operational activities and employment in these industries. This paper leverages administrative data to examine the distribution of this sector's workforce by gender, age and full-time work status. Results in this paper are based solely on employees who received a T4 slip by employers and on self-employed individuals, excluding other employment types, such as contract workers"--Page 4.
