"Data portability gives consumers the power to transfer their personal information easily and safely between service providers. This creates more freedom, choice, and convenience. When consumers can take their data with them, it increases competition and fuels innovation across sectors. Canada continues to make progress, particularly in the banking and health sectors. But we have more work to do to unlock data portability’s full potential.
